HONEY

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

The Honey Bee and the Hive. An exhibition of artists/makers covering various crafts disciplines! I was kindly invited by Joseph Harrington whose wonders I discovered at last years Origin. Exhibiting five new pieces which I will hopefully get some images of.

Also there was Bob Crooks.

I got the opportunity to introduce myself as well as take a few pics of some bright vibrant bowls and some amazing heavily cold worked perfume bottles.

West End

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Tuesday afternoon in London. What better to do than to head down the West End of London Namely Nottinghill – Westbourne Grove to check out some of the amazing glass shops!

Firstly I popped into Themes & variations who host an eclectic mix of high quality retro glass including an awesome White with Black Toots Zinsky Vase as well as a couple of inspiring Alfredo Barbini pieces..Hopefully gonna get a couple of images of these up to show!

Just round the corner is the wonderful Vessel with a mass of innovative, colourful and well executed glass. Here are a selection of images taken at Vessel. Artist names to follow…

Aria

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

Still in the pursuit of gifts. I popped into Islington’s answer to design heaven Aria. Situated on Barnsbury Street just off Upper Street, Aria a mere ten minute walk from Angel tube and well worth an excursion. Design stalwarts Foscarini have teamed up with Italian high street fashion group Diesel to produce a range of contemporary lighting aimed at those with an eye for the interesting. These beauties combine modern design with blown pieces to produce a range illuminating, challenging and very sexy! Amongst the mass of creativity I snapped up a couple of other lighting luminaries, this multi-bulbed wonder and a modern classic; Foscarini’ s fave from 2005: Caboche

Marvelous!
