Suzanne Vega in the country I made a long awaited trip over to Bournemouth. Whilst in the area I decided to pop over to neighbouring town Poole which hosts the UK’ s remaining quality hot glass course. Ran by glass veteran and maker Rob Marshall the custom studio offers 2 furnaces, 4 glory holes and couple of top loaders. Rob took time out to chat to me about the course offered at the Poole and his 22 years previous experience including time with the legendary Big Ronnie Wilkinson of Whitefriars and the Glass House and also his time as maker/designer at Bristol Blue.

For anyone wanting to learn how to make quality stem ware or blown glass I believe there are just 2 places left on next years course.
